I am Katerina Zhiznevskaya,
creator of interior ceramics inspired by nature, feelings, tactility.
My path as a ceramicist lay through the knowledge of both the material and myself, from the first touch of clay in childhood, at my dad’s dacha, to my own workshop in adulthood.
The decision to leave a leadership position in business and devote myself entirely to what resonates with my soul was not an easy one, but it was the one that allowed me to become an artist.
Each new stage was another step towards the dream:
2017-2018 — professional development of ceramic technology and the decision to open my own workshop;
2018-2023 — creation and development of the natural ceramics brand “Travy-Mary”:
— ceramics exhibition “Keramagiya 2019”;
— ceramics festival “Dym 2019”;
— annual participation in the exhibition “Mlyn”;
— home market in my studio together with other masters;
— exhibition at the National Gallery of Art;
— personal exhibition;
— regular training and advanced training with the best masters: glaze chemistry with Alexander Berdin-Lazursky, Samara, “The Magic of Fine Ceramics” by Alexander Boyarko, Lviv, “Large-Form Pottery Technique” by Ksenia Polyakova, Polenovo ;
and in 2024, a new direction of my activity was born — interior ceramics:
creation of sculptural vases using the tourniquet technique, shooting for interior magazines, working with decorators, publication in the interior magazine “Obstanovka”, a symposium of high wood fire in the anagama stove by Marina Akilova, an exhibition and presentation in the Art Factory gallery.
Clay is a living material that remembers the warmth and feeling with which it was touched; every curve, bump and hollow has its own story and they are ready to tell it, you just have to touch it.
